December 2009 - Mount Rushmore from the Canadian Side

Frequently when people have a new fence put up around their house,
they make a point to have the pretty side facing them and the ugly side facing their neighbor.

Apparently the people who carved out Rushmore were equally inconsiderate.  This is just an another example of the kind of American insensitivity than infuriates our friends to the north.

Fatima was featured last month for having the best Halloween costume.  

Fatima goes crazy at all of our Halloween parties, but she is a little shy when
traveling abroad.

While it is true the picture is vaguely amusing,
what is really astounding here is that someone would take the time
to create and decorate a thousand snowballs with faces.

Perhaps this is a computer-generated picture.  Quite frankly, I am hoping it is.

Otherwise I would be forced to conclude
that as one sad consequence of our nation's economic woes,
there are a lot of unemployed people out there looking for something to do.
