ILLUSIONS

Everyone loves illusions.
The picture on the right is a Halloween costume.
When I first saw this picture in the Chronicle back
in 1987, it took me quite a while to figure out the
man in the cage was the one with the legs, not the
gorilla. At first I thought it was two men!
Another popular illusion is the sidewalk artwork of
Julian Beever. One of these days I will have
an entire page developed to his extraordinary work.

PHOTOGRAPHY ILLUSIONS
The next section of this page are
devoted to
photography illusions. Quite frankly, I estimate at
least ten of these were deliberately staged. But they
are so much fun, who cares? Special thanks to Gareld McEathron for sharing these pictures in an email.

I don't think this one was staged.
Take a close look
and you will see two shoes and one leg. If I were
to guess,
one shoe is empty and he is perched on one leg. |
This one was obviously staged.
Too bad they couldn't find someone with hair.

that back. I do have something to say -
I think this picture is a fake. It is funny, but I
don't believe it. |

EXACT MOMENT
This section is devoted to pictures
taken at the right moment. I don't think these
pictures were staged. You have to hand it to the
photographers for such skill! Special thanks to
