Rick Archer's Note: The
SSQQ Picture Joke
Page was removed from the Internet back in
August 2010. It is now June 2011. After a year's absence, I
have decided to restore this popular former feature of the SSQQ web
site.
So what's the story?
About this time last year, I was experiencing "bandwidth problems".
This was a new phenomenon. In ten years with this website hosting
company, this had never happened before. However, this headache
wasn't going away. I had been fighting it for six months.
Here's a quick glance at the problem:
Thank you for your
payment.
This is a notice to inform
you that ssqq.com has used 172.89 GB of bandwidth for the
month of May 2011. Your current plan allows for 150 GB of
bandwidth. You will be charged an additional
$4 per GB over your allowed bandwidth, bringing a
total of $92.00 added to your monthly total.
Here is your receipt as
requested for ssqq.com.

What had happened was
that my website had become 'too popular'. I was being charged
extra because too many people were visiting my website. I could
afford $37 a month for a website that I maintain for the fun of it, but
these overcharges really hurt.
At the
time, my only solution was to reduce the "interest" in my website, so I
began by removing my Joke Pictures.
Since then I moved my
website to a different platform. That solved the problem.
So, everybody, let's welcome back the SSQQ Picture Joke Page. One
more thing: This website is a community effort.
If lots of people send
lots of neat stuff to me, I turn around and share it with everybody.
So, here is my question: Do
You Have a Great Picture Joke? If
so, send it to Rick Archer:
